Yeah, but Min I love Ol' Grandpa Jones

My Grandfathers Clock was to big for the shelf
so it stood ninety years on the floor
It was larger by half than the old man himself
though it weighed not a penny ounce more...

I to have to admit to being a die hard Eagles fan and am glad to hear that they are getting back together... saw them at the Sportatorium years back. Also have some mixes that include Metallica and The London Symphony Orchestra... great!!! I listen to alot of different stuff, including alot of Colombian Music because of my wife. They also have "Country" (Vallenatos) and such.

        Robivi3,

While I'm thinking of it "Renfro Valley" is about 15 minutes from my home...... NOW THAT IS THE ORIGINAL HOME OF COUNTRY MUSIC - BEFORE NASHIVILLE, TN.................... Grandpa Jones and many of the "old timers" started out in Renfro Valley.......... then they started up the Grand Old Opry in Nashville.....later. My mom went there as a little girl....... soooooo it's been there a long, long time.....

They still have the original "old barn" and now also a new one........ Shows are put on 3 nights a week during the summer, and lots of festivals in the summer are held there... Shopping etc for everyone.......

They often have guest appearances and entertainers in concert that come in from Nashville...... all summer long.

If you move to Tn...... you'll have to come up and go one evening...... You would ENJOY..............

Jane, my youngest is a Chris Rice fan. Scott Wesly Brown "This little child". I have alot of Jimmy Swaggart and also John Starnes Music. I met John Starnes in 1990, a fine man. Those are not in my Truck right now but they are great artists. Jimmy Swaggart has his faults yes, but i still love the mans voice.

Not into rap, but don't have a huge problem with some of it. However, we used to watch the house party movies on third shift many years ago, they were funny.

Anyone have Bobby Golsboro in the car?

Never in the car... Ray Stevens... can't take... and he was a neighbor. I went to school with his daughter Timi. She was very cute and not stuck up. One morning the bus broke down in front of his house and I remember all of us yelling for Ray. Stevens isn't his real name, it's Ragsdale. I can say it, that was 36 years ago.

He sang "Honey" in 1969 the year my real mother died. That song meant alot to me, I used to cry when i played it.

Ed Ames is still living. He lives in Bedford Mass. I tried calling his house but did not get an answer. He is very old. I just wanted to let him know that some fans are still enjoying his music. Saw him last night on AMC by accident, thought Daniel Boone had been buried on the "politically correct" ash heap, but there it was on TV Land and there was m'boy Mingo, the man with the Bullwhip. My Dad let me stay up late the night he was on Johnny Carson (also the night Micheal Landon was on in the 60's) and I saw the axe throwing/crotch deal live. My Dad drove me down to the War Memmorial building in Nashville in '65 to meet Little Joe, a MAJOR deal in that day.

Also LOVE Elton John, don't care about his private goings on, just as soon not be privvy. Love Madonna and have Modonna's Evita on VHS. Can't stand the flick, love Banderas' acting in spite, the man has NEVER gotten his due respect as an actor, could be the accent, love Madonna's singing in the flick.

Back to CD's in the car, played "The Alamo" Soundtrack especially one melody, Billy Bob Thorntons scene "Crocketts DeGuello (The slit throat)" goooood and loud was played on the way home eight or nine times today.
