    HHM's Travel Pics

Sorry guys, the forum is just not letting me upload the pics directly, I have compressed them down to where each pic is less than 58KB, and it still won't let me upload because it says I have exceeded the file size. Which doesn't make sense, because according to the attachement key, your allowed up 97.66KB for JPG images.

If I had to guess, the problem lies in that the maximum files size settings are the max for the entire website, not per post. So if the max is set at 100KB, and someone has posted one pic somewhere on the site, it is preventing other people from posting pics.

That's strange, lots of folks have posted pics in the last 6 months in their postings.....

    Wonder what the problem is...

Try renaming each pic, HHM. Something as simple as adding a 1 or the letter A on the end of the name.

I've seen Forums where once a poster tries to load a pic, the name has been used and the system will not accept a resubmission with the same name.

Maybe that will fix the problem.

Ok, this is the error message I got
        Upload Errors
        NZ2005a.JPG:
Exceeds forum quota by 57.7 KB.
Which is weird, because the file is only 58.6 KB. Since it says, "forum quota" I am guessing there is a setting somewhere in the master control board that fixes the maximum amount of disk space allocated to attached photos and that that max has been reached. This would be something for Hrx or Lazar to address.

Whereas when I converted one image to a bitmap just to see if I can upload it as a bmp file, I get this error message
        Upload Errors
        NZ2005a.bmp:
Your file of 441.1 KB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 100.0 KB for this file type.
Which is why I think the problem lies in the maximum space dedicated to storing JPG files on the forum, and not just in the file size restrictions for JPG. There seems to be room for bitmaps, but the bitmap I tried to load was too large...whereas the JPG error message seems to indicate that there is no more space left on the forum to store JPG files.

Several people here have set up accts at photobucket.com and posted their pics there. Then they just post a link here to their photo file there.

          That's a thought for you.

HHM, if you wish to PM me I can give you my email and you can send me the files full size. I can put them on one of my website spaces and everyone can see them. I promise to delte everything in every way in a couple of days and to retain nothing. If you want, if not, I understand.
