    TJ Maxx/Marshall's ... Credit Card/ATM info Hacked into...

    I was just reading that two weeks ago, TJ Maxx announced that it's stored credit card infor had been hacked as in identity theft....just read it on that MSNBC site the red tape diaries....

    I have not received anything from my bank or Hooter's in regards to this...anybody?

    Correct....I had my visa Check Card replaced after this because, my number was one of those that were hacked. Very weird, considering how I typically don't shop at either stores---but I needed to purchase a matching tie, and didn't feel like driving far. My checking account wasn't compromised, and it doesn't appear as though anyone has tried to create a new account either.

      So, if I know I shopped there, using either ATM...or my new HOOTERS...what should I do? I have not received notification from either on this?

        AMISLANDER, see if you can get in touch with appropriate people and inform them your credit might be compromise and they may have to hook you up with a FREE credit check/fraud protection thing to safeguard your credit!

          There's a good chance that you weren't affected. My credit union sent me a notification informing me that my account was one that was stolen. Follow-up with your bank/credit union. You can always just have them change your card account number, to be on the safe side. And just monitor your credit report for a while for fraudulent activity.

            Even if you weren't and their not sure either - AND there's a good chance you can get a FREE credit monitoring report whatever GO FOR IT !

                    My daughter was affected

                    She shopped at Marshall's in December/January. Her bank issued her a new card in early February. They also sent her a voucher to use for a credit check with Transunion...nice! It is a small, locally owned bank and still personalizes their services. As a college student her balance typically hovers around $50 so not much damage to be done...She is going to wait until next month to check and make sure my bankruptcy doesn't show up on any of the accounts where she was authorized user on my credit cards.
                    August '05 Business failed.

                      In the news they said if you have shopped there in the last 3 years.....3YEARS?? my gosh...LOL
                      I have not gotten anything about on this... but I have shopped there.....so I should just notify my bank? I'd hate to wait for a new bank card. Plus I have used different cards....like my Paypal, debit, and credit cards......I don't know which one I used , I have shopped there a few times!!!....I have to call ALL of them ??

                      UGH what do you suggest before I start calling everyone on earth!!
                      I already have a credit monitoring company...is that safe enough?

                        I have changed my BOA ATM/check card since then a few times...can't find where I hid my Hooter's and so I have changed that card now, which is the one I used at Marshall's.....

                        It's not like they want to steal my identity...not much left in account each month to worry about anymore!
