    Visa vs. Mastercard.................

More and more banks are offering credit cards that can be either a Visa or Mastercard. However, even though with the same company/bank, each have their separate terms and separate initial credit limits and frequency of credit line increases.
A good example is my recent approval for a Washington Mutual Mastercard - limit $1000.
Just about 2 years ago WAMU offered, and I accepted their Visa with a starting limit of $1500 - which last year they increased to $2500.00.
So why didn't they just increase my Visa limit to $3500 instead of approving me for a Mastercard with a $1000 limit?

Keep in mind, all Visa and MasterCard are are payment processors. It is the bank that is the lender.
