    Ever wonder????

Ever wonder how many of the crooks who were involved in the Savings & Loan debacle of the 1980s are now high ranking executives at the major banks today?
The "robbing" of consumers, loanshark level fees and interest rates is rampant today.
So - to all of you who want to file bankruptcy - go ahead. Stick it to them!!!

Over time I have gotten over kicking myself in the ass for filing bankruptcy.

Kari, I was reading your blog. Excellent blog by the way. You posted a link to an article of how credit companies actually get far far more money from people than what they originally owed due to fees, etc. Post it here as I think it is quite apropro.

Thanks for reading my blog. Even though reading this forum has helped me cope with my bankruptcy this is another way for me to both vent and feel productive. I actually did feel bad for some of my creditors when I first decided to file bankruptcy but not anymore!

Talking about robbing, I feel that way about the insurance companies. doctors & hospitals. I must have been oblivious all these years. Just because they help people does not warrant the insurance games & fraud going on. When I can get a perscription from Mexico or Canada for $5 that works the same as paying $60 in the States, it really is taking advantage of the people.

Let's just tack on an extra 40% to the bill & see what insurance will pay. There may not be any interest but they sock it to ya right off the top.
$350 for a pair of wire cutters that I could have picked up the same thing at the flea market for $2 bucks & sanitized them myself.

I am seeing too much of that & it took it to hit home for me to realize. They are covered no matter what happens while the patients go through life paying enormous premiums & medical bills they can never pay in full.
It does not set a very good example & sets everyone on the war path when they come to realize.

God forbid that a family goes thru a hurricane with Allstate because they will cancel & move out of that state after millions of people have paid for home coverage their whole lives. They will pay all the claims but then leave the state to pick up the pieces crying "we will go broke in this state".

          *burp*
          ah, that felt good.

???????????????? Bank crooks had nothing to do with the S&L debacle of 1980

And interest rates back then? One of the problems was that there was a usury rate imposed on the banks where they could NOT raise the interest rates, so they were locked into low interest home loans.

If there were any crooks involved they were real estate developers and appraisers. Long story......

Criminality actually played a very small part in the S&L crisis. There were many reasons for the crisis mostly due to outdated policies. I would bore you to tears with them.

On the other hand, I totally agree with the comment on the medical and insurance companies.
