Sometimes I think animals are more sensitive to "our needs" then humans are.
My dogs stay right with me if I'm home sick. Right by the chair, right by the bed. They look up everytime I cough, etc.
They really act concerned sometimes.....
My one little beagle starts barking if I start having an asthma attack....
Now if I could teach them to dial 911, I'd be a lot better off....Minny

True story.
After Hurricane Andrew a co-worker went out and found one of his large goldfish laying on the front lawn. He assumed the fish was dead but laid it back in the concrete pond in front of his home. A half hour later he notices this dead fish being pushed around the pond by the tortoise who also lived there. The tortoise was pushing from the tail so that oxygen (he later figured out) would pass through the gills. Happens in real life too............
Bodies have gone to the morgue, only to "awaken" on the coroner...... (not often, but has happened)....
