I have had to go to the er twice before with my asthma, but after a nebulizer, I was fine and went home. I have never had to be admitted before. my heart rate is still high and I'm on meds for that too. I am getting a little better each day, its just taking a while. and I'm so weak. its hard to show up for work but I have no choice. thanks for your understanding!

luckily I work in a hospital, so if I have shortness of breath, oxygen is all around me and so are doctors and nurses! I have had more than a few breathing treatments here and sometimes I hook myself up to an o2 tank when I'm sitting at the desk.

I will let you guys know what happens. I have done some research and it seems the issue is not anything to do with my heart so far. I have learned to somewhat control the attacks or sudden rush, I may be dealing with two issues and the HBP may be seperate.

As far as 25-30? seperate EKG, 30-40? blood tests, 12? chest Xrays and and CT Scan with Contrast my heart is good and only my potaasium level shows a problem. I will keep everyone posted, for the moment feeling much better.

just for note, I have had no pain in the heart area.

Glad your feeling better this morning........

Just take things as they come and RELAX..... pet that dog......

Hopefully they will soon decide what the problem is and get your started on meds if necessary to regulate everything.

Bet you have scared your Mrs. about half to death these past couple of weeks. Also your boys need to realize "ole Dad" is not as young as he once used to be......

Hang in there, hope they find the problem soon.

have been back to the ER again a couple of times, nothing showing. Waiting to go to the endochrinologist to get checked. I am taking 25 mg Toprol, 25 mg lisinopril, 10mg Lexapro and 0.5 mg of Xanax at night to sleep. It is wierd and I am getting used to controlling the BP. The adrenal gland seems to control many of the chemicals that govern different responses.

The advice on breathing and what i have read on deep breathing have been VERY helpful. I now take deep breaths through the nose and with everything am breathing better than ever. Whatever is going on gets me into deep depression and then "poof" I come out. I think that is medicine. It may be the forties changes. The first attacks can only be likened to a chemical injection and I seem to have become paranoid since. It is still possible that i ingested poison, but not likely at this point.

Good news, BP has been holding steady for weeks in the 125-130/67-75 range. Don't know what i went through but am on four meds. including 25mg toprol and 25 mg lisinopril. Feeling great. I appreciate everyone who PM'd me and all who chimed in. The HUGE help was the post on breathing, I think that has made a difference. and my doctor cleared me for my social "Samuel Adams" and that makes me soooooooo happy!!!!!

Glad to know your doing so much better these days and hopefully gotten all your medical problems under control for right now.

Yes, unfortunately with age, comes the problems....... getting older is not better by any means... at least health wise it isn't.

Yes a cold Samuel Adams is good for the "spirit"...... one of the few pleasures in life we can still enjoy...

My mom is suffering from her diabetes. She was taken to the hospital the first week of April due to her sugar level getting down to 58. It got that low again this past week but they caught it before taking her. Normally her sugar is in the 200 to 300 range with insulin. I wish she'd watch what she eats more.
I am no expert in diabetes, but I suspect her meds need to be readjusted. Mine got down to 40 and the problem was too much meds. I would have it rechecked with her doctor.
