Stimulus Check Arrival

We're leaving for Vegas in 2 weeks but I'm hoping the IRS keeps the money to go toward our 2007 tax bill. How will we know?

My $600 was direct-deposited today as scheduled. I used HR Block online to do my taxes and paid the fee with my debit card. My SS ends in 30.

I have yet to hear of the IRS doing anything fast or that makes sense.

Still waiting here as well. Called the IRS and our amendment (which didnt change anything (no extra refund and nothing to pay) just a tiny amount 1099int that didnt come in until the end of February). Still has not been processed. That rotten 1040x that took me 5 minutes do do sits in their system waiting for someone to take care of it. Maybe 10-12 weeks even. I am glad that everyone got their checks but I wish the people at the IRS took care of all the tax returns/amendments that were in by April 15th. Then focused on the checks. Of course I say that.... if it were at least showing in the system I suppose I would be saying different.

I am assuming then that we will get the money. On the IRS page it say's something about reference number 1641..... Anyone know what this means? Where supposed to get the money today but we had a check sent to us for the 07 tax refund even though I put an account for direct deposit. Has this happened to anyone? I dont care when I get the money as long as I know I'll get it....

I got my stimulus money today.

Just so you all know, I got my Stimulus Check at 12:01a.m. on Friday May 9th. Must have been set on some kind of auto-program to deposit at that time.

Anyway, I paid taxes with TurboTax and used an ATM card to pay for the filing.

Woo hoo!

Now I can open that certificate of deposit account for a rainy day!

You will probably get it next week. We should've gotten our rebate last week(lst 2 digits were in the 00-20 range), but we aren't getting it until the 9th.

I just kept reading that it should be in there about 10 days before you receive it and still nothing, as of today.....I need the $$ to pay my daughter's tuition that was due in March, so I'm stressin' a little bit!

It kept happening to me too, finally I broke down and called the IRS. I found out that it was because we paid our fees using our refund and ours would be a paper check mailed out on the 16th. Big bummer! Anyway, when I tried again this week it showed up, so maybe it has something to do with your ss number. Really if your worried just call them and ask, it put my mind to rest once I did.

We were all set to file last week! ( I mean paperwork signed dated and ready to send in!) I delayed it because these darn checks were supposed to be here 'early' Well I still show nothing on the irs website. I called the IRS.
Supposedly because I amended our income tax the very end of March to add an additional $10 dollars of interest income our stimulus could be delayed 8 weeks!!
I asked what would have happened if I just didnt do the amendment(form 1040x) The man said " for such a small amount it wouldnt have been picked up by the system"

You have got to be kidding me! here I wanted to be as honest as possible. It changed NOTHING on our income tax return. We had already received our refund in February and the amount was exactly the same.
So then I ask the dreaded question why will it take 8 weeks. He said Amended returns go into the computer and are taken care of AFTER original tax returns. I asked if he could flag my account that it was a really really really really really easy amendment and he was very nice saying even if he could it wouldnt matter no one would notice.
So I wonder what to do now? I still see no information on New York state trustees taking stimulus but then again I dont see any information on them not taking it either. I'll wait another week or so and then just do what needs to be done. If it wasnt so much money I wouldnt bother. Just feeling really disappointed right now

We are somewhat in the same boat. We are delaying filing because of needing the stimulus check for so many different things and we just can't afford to lose it. So, instead of filing the beginning of this month, it will most likely run into sometime in middle of June possibly even the end of June. I am praying the creditors will leave us alone that long. We have to wait on the stimulus check because I had the fees taken out of the refund, even though the refund was direct deposited! What a pain.

Maybe talk to your attorney about this, find out what they say. I think right now it's anyone's guess what the trustees will do and personally, we just can't afford to lose that check. Our will be almost $1800.00 and since I don't see any other way to do the stuff we need to use that money for, we have no choice but to wait.
