If you ever have any major issues with original creditors + their collection goons, expose them to the local media, preferably TV stations - if the creditor is in that town/city.
Consumer affairs reporters love to assist consumers, and if the issue is big enough even national networks might air it.

Segments like that sometimes show managers simply ignoring the reporters and referring them to "headquarters".
But the bad publicity is already out there.
