I have two gas guzzlers. One is practically a beater (rusty, not good looking, high miles), but I sunk well over $5k into it since last year and into this year
The other one is in so so shape, abs doesn't work, some cosmetic damage, but far from a beater. Lots of life left in the vehicle.
Either one, I only get about 17-18mpg average.
I was thinking, if I trade them both in, I'd get less than $10K, if i was lucky.
But gas is costing me around $300 a month now because I'm having to travel.
Both cars are paid for, so it's just insurance and maintenance, which seems to be quite hefty.
I keep getting itchy feet thinking I should get a newer car that isn't as gas guzzling. But I'm not sure if it's really much of a trade off since I'll be incurring a payment, on top of still having to pay for gas of course.
Of course, I still have BILLS, BILLS, BILLS....who on this forum doesn't?
What would you do? Trade em in. Or just ride it out?
