Budgets for the Unemployed

Was waiting for this shoe to drop, and it finally did.

I filed for UI on the 7th, and am waiting on the 2 week wait period before I can start getting benefits. In the meantime, I have cut every nook and cranny that I can see. Perhaps somebody else has more suggestions?

Electric 150 Will drop when the summer is over
Water 75
Trash 16
Phone 15
Food 300 Lot's of pot pies and cheap food
Fuel 250 For going on Job Interviews (estimate)
Auto Insurance 62
Medical Insurance 63 For my daughter's coverage
Internet 25 Need this for job searching
Daycare 140 Covering my kids while out looking (estimate)
Car Payment 140

I cancelled my satellite, running a cable from computer to TV and watching shows from the internet (my kids actually aren't complaining as much as I thought.)
Cancelled my phone service with AT&T went with Vonage, because of the 2 months free offer.
I BK'd my house, and I called the lender yesterday, and am nowhere close to foreclosure (and they want to work something out with me, but I told them at this point I can't do anything yet until I am working again) Thank god I have time, nobody would rent to me right now,

Any other suggestions to stretch $374 a week for 3 people???

Have you tried to get any assistance to help with food or anything? It's just a matter of being able to qualify, that's the hard part.

Other than that you've cut about everything you possible could.

I have not tried for food stamps yet.

I did try for daycare assistance, but I have to be working and there is an income limit. Go figure, I thought zero might be low enough, but noooo..not in the state of Texas (don't get me started on how they kiss the *** of corporations and put the screws to the employed or unemployed folks that make those corporations run).

But I digress.
