Have you heard the latest news about Driving Under the Influence?

I think keeping up on DUI laws is important. The site below is a great news source. It really helps me understand the laws, my rights, and how to prevent and respond to DUI arrests.

When you are impaired, you are not going to remember half of that. During the field sobriety test, you are not allowed to have an attorney, because questions are not asked. If you refuse to submitted to the tests (In FL), you will have your DL suspended for a year.

"DO MAKE SURE NOT TO FUMBLE OR TRIP...."

Are they kidding??? If you are past the legal limit chances are you will fumble and you have no control over this.

Anyone can smell it on someone that was drinking just as easy as you can smell someone that just had a smoke and came back in the room.

Take the bus and save a life. It works better then this list.

Watch TRU TV for all the cop shows, chases, arrests, ect.

Some of these are extremely funny, but also informative of: You do NOT know when you may be on the new version of "CANDID CAMERA".

        It could be YOU.

Actually by the rules in Florida that I am aware of, you can be totally sober--but have had a bad day, or didn't sleep well the night before, and be pulled for being 'under the influence.' It has happened.

I had one cop pull over, 2:00 in the morning. He said he smelled alchol. I told him if he smeled alchol it wasn't from me. I asked him that he should call his Watch Commander. He asked what for. I told him I can't do toe over heel because of nerve damage in my right foot. He said okay, just step to the back of the car. I stepped to the back of the car and asked him if he could turn some of the lights down, I am light sensitive. He wouldn't. He had me due a field sobriety test and then blow into the tube. The results came back zero.
That morning when I woked up, I called the police station and filed a verbal complaint. That afternoon he called me and apologized.

              Never had that happened before.

I wouldn't turn off the lights as well (officer safety). He was being nice calling you back (he was just doing his job). I am going based what you told us.

What about the video tape? More and more, these stops are being videoed, not only for the officer's protection, but as evidence too. Has that subject come up? Just curious.

                    Just don't drink and drive.

Then you won't have to understand the laws, your rights, and how to prevent and respond to DUI arrests.

                    Pretty simple.

I'm glad I don't drink at all. That way I don't have to keep track of laws like this one. I hope everyone that does drink follows it though.

In FL you dont have to do the sobriety test, but if you smell and/or act under the influence, they can take you to booking and request blood/urine or breath test and if you refuse............your license will be suspended.

Also in FL for the blood test to be request, there was in most cases seriously bodily harm or death. It will not be challenged in court and officers do not need permission if you are in the hospital but if you are not a judge will be more than happy to sign a warrant for the sample.
Most of the cars in FL now (south FL at least) have cameras. The lights go on so does the camera.
