How do I find a good CPA?

I'm going to need help with figuring out how to track taxes and expenses as I've decided to take a job as a consultant.

I'll be getting a 1099 form from the employer.

So how do I find a good CPA?

Are there any signs that one is not-so-hot?

    Thanks!

A really small business or consultant does not have to take on the expense of a CPA. There are bookkeepers called "enrolled agents" that are cheaper and can do financial statements for you and can also do your taxes at the end of the year.

As far as finding a good one, like anything else, get referrals from others that have used the service and then it is hit or miss.

Make sure you pay estimated quarterly taxes so you don't end up with a huge tax bill at year end.
