    Names

This is just an opinion so pleeeeease no nasty pm's and overly sensetive replies.

We choose user names. I notice alot choose names based on a persons feelings about themselves at the moment or to describe their situation. Everytime they see that name it reminds them of failure. Why not choose a name that is generic or that describes where you'd like to be in life. Just a thought. Mine is a combination of me, my wife and three boys. My BK is over, it is in my rear view mirror and life is 100% different today. BK is hell when you pass through it, but it does end.

You can aquire assets once it's over and it isn't real hard. Life can be rebuilt. We need to build ourselves up. I am going back to College in Winter and I'm 46. Life has turned a corner for us and I'm glad I filed BK, WISH I'D DONE IT SOOOOOOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll give you one example. I bought nearly two acres of commercial property on Interstate 40 in Arizona (right at an exit) for 995.00. I bought it, have the deed in hand. I was offered $3500.00 for it and have turned it down. I bought alot more than that also. I found alot of distress sales. That one came from a corporation. It took several hundred hours online to find these properties. I did find them, searched Assessors roles in certain counties, called people, got refused on some, even got cussed out once or twice, got real lucky on others.

You can rebuild a life after BK if you are in a good situation.

    Hey Robivi3, - YOUR RIGHT!!!

Yes there is life after BK - and yes I'm still waiting on my closing!!! (hope they settle this mess soon)...
Have been discharged since last October, have new cc available - If I decided I want them (really only need one for emergency use only or traveling).
Have been offered a good deal on a new vehicle (at employee prices) - no questions asked about finances. Pays to know someone at GM... (of course my 2 vehicles are both 1987's - run like deer!!!)
I am a cash and carry person again, always have been till 7 years ago taking on care of elderly parent.
Like is better these days............more peacefull (even with the house issue)....
I don't need much, don't spend much, don't want for much..... (does that mean i'm dieing??)
Debt free is a great RELIEF.... from a tired old body.... who fought it for many years.
As embarrassing as claiming bk was - it's probably the BEST AND WISEST decision I ever made.
Would I do it again - YES..... Just wish I had done it sooner!!!

Yes out pen names reflect our feelings.... - awww, mine don't - what could "minnymouth" reflect...????

    A little mouthy - NOT HARDLEY...........LOL, LOL
    Just my thoughts,

    Minny

I had wondered about that Tin. I thought maybe you lived ina rural area and it was a landmark or something. Creative.

Babycakes was a nickname given to me by friends years ago when I was the youngest one in the bunch. Now I'm the oldest, but the nickname stuck.

Speaking of names. I guess I can confess that I'll be banging away at a new online business. My old one died after some prosperous years. It was labor intensive and required ALOT of investment and left me $58,000.00 in the hole when 9/11 came around and ditched what was already a teetering economy. The nineties were good years. The investment required is minimal and i am looking at something that may provide an extra armchair easy $600.00 to 1200.00 dollars per month when i retire and leave Florida.

This one is remarkably different and I'll reveal the domain names later. Basically, I'll be doing ads for pet friendly hotels and campgrounds along with a large classifieds section. Things aren't running yet and I want the BK two full years in the rearview mirror before I let fly. We also are running another classifieds site for general items. I have a knack for Domain names and one Canadian Company was paying me $175.00 per name to come up with unique names. I reserved two and refused to part with them.

Sounds like something that will have a good market. I know someone who runs a petstore that caters that group of the population that can afford to pamper their pet a little. She does well, I understand.

My cousin runs several online stores & sells lots of things on ebay-has done it for 4-5 years now I believe. I envy her a little-but I also know she often puts 10 hours a day, 7 days a week into it...

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

                hahahaha. Nope.

My twin sister has red hair exactly the same color of mine (which, not to sound snobby, but I think it's lovely) and she dyes it these God-awful colors......

I like the way you guys came up with your id's. They are actually fun to hear about. Babycakes is cute as is tin and min's names. My uncle Curtis was always "Cucky", don't know why. My fathers father was "Big Daddy" and his wife was "Big Mama". My grandmother on my mom's was Mama Hill and her father was Daddy or Daddy Hill. His brother was Uncle Elijah and was called "Uncle Lishe", stretch the I. My brother was "bubba" to me and my mother only. It was a pet name, he is a mechanical engineer and is neither large nor stupid.

On my wifes side is a host of pet names and names some of which describe events and embarrassing moments in spanish. She met her aunts grandmother (this by marriage) who died in Barranquilla at 119 and could still dance and talk about the old days. One of her cousins named his five sons after Greek Philosophers. I love it because her family is as eccentric as mine. Keep it up guys, lets here some more. These names should be encouraging and I like the way you guys didn't put yourselves down!!!!!!!!!!

And Tin, all of us males were once in love with Molly Ringwald. I think her "nice girl" image helped also.

Stac, I can understand that ten hour a day deal on ebay. I was doing up until about 2000. 2000... ever time I say 2000 I'm wondering where is the Seaview, the Moonbase, my Laser gun, where the heck is my robot and why isn't Starfleet in charge yet? Oh well, at least I have Battlestar Galactica back on TV! Oh well, back to names...

I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

                            Shame, shame on you Sunshine08,
2 slaps with my "ugly stick" for picking on Lightening again,
BUT I KNOW - you just had to DO IT, COULDN'T RESIST, HUH....

Yeh, wonder how his name reflects him or her -
                            1. Does he "strike anywhere" like lightening?
                            2. Does he "shock" your nervous system?
                            3. Does he "hit and run"?
                            4. Does he "light up your life"?
                            5. Does he only "come out" when it's storming?

Yes, interesting name there!!! NO OFFENSE INTENDED, LIGHTENING....

                            Just my thoughts,

Thanks Minny, I needed A laugh (not at lightening's expense either). Had A really bad week.
When I sit on Santa's lap with my 2 yr old grandson, I am asking Santa to get Lightning to answer all of our questions. Won't even cost anything.
I THINK I NOTICE HIM MORE BECAUSE HE ASKS ALL THE QUESTIONS BUT DOESN'T ANSWER OURS, MORE THAN I DO HIS "?".
Just my opinion of course, that law hasn't changed has it?
