Well, can't speak for the whole US, but on average, the catch rate is 90+% and frankly, that's one gamble I'd NEVER risk my butt with.

If I was desperate, there's plenty of "Daily Labor" places you can go work out of. Sure, they pay min, but it's nice not to have to look over your shoulder every so often..

Plus, for food, I'd hit the local church charities. Stealing cash is...Well, it's just kind of stupid with the chance you're going to get caught that high.
