    This might be quite nice...

So Wednesday (Last week) my supervisor (I'll be nice and call the raging idiot that) tells us that end of Nov, there's a 2 week shutdown. In addition, there's a "General Meeting" (which most likely, they'll announce that we're no longer making the 20" and 27" combo units) and we'll find out more then.

(Due to recent actions, I have most likely made myself a target for "Layoff" anyway, not that I planned it, but I'm not gonna cry. Lots of goodies for this)

On the bright side, if this is true, then this falls under NAFTA and thus, I get 2 months pay, retraining and unemployment for up to a year.

So, I'm going into work in a good mood, hoping I'll soon NOT be at that insane place!

    Geneco,
Around here all companies due their laying off right around Thanksgiving and 1st of December. Terrible blow to many for the Holidays. Personally, I think its a shame, a lot of these people work so hard all year long, overtime, etc.... and then these companies do them like this!
One company I worked for 8 years worked you to death all spring and summer, then starved you to death all winter. I had to work 2 jobs all the time to stay on top of the game....cause I knew the layoffs were coming. They would cut your hours just enough to keep you from drawing unemployment..
Yet this companies wanted your loyalty and energy 100%.... DUH!!!
Where I come from you get what you give....... and NOW a lot of these companies are begging for people to work for them and THEY WON'T.... People get tired of paying for gas for a 1/2 hour trip to work and then work 2 hours and get sent home....
Hope the shutdown is not too hard on you....

    Keep us posted,

    Minny

Well, the "Raginging Idiot" had to take back his words, but then we were told there's a 3 day shut-down...However, the area I know well is shut for the week. No worries, I can take Vac and work at a "Secondary place" which pays daily.
