I found out today that I will be loosing my job by Jan. Mentally I've been preparing for this for over a year because I've witnessed lay-offs and consolidations at my company. I knew it was just a matter of time.
And since last Jan, I've been sending out resumes and I never get even an interview. It never used to be like this. I've never had a problem getting a job.
So, unemployment, here I come. I read an article on the front page of the WSJ yesterday where a man lost his job and went hiking. I thought that was cool. Maybe some time off will do me good.

I lost my job in January and I have used the time to totally change my life. I moved out of nyc and went back to graduate school to get a second graduate degree in a different field.

My fellowship is NOT need based, it was based on my grades from my other degrees, my GRE scores and recommendations.
