    New Year Resolution

We all make New Years Resolutions, but most of us don't keep them very well.

I've made a few for myself this year (unusual for me).

    1. Help as many people as I can thru their bankruptcy cases. Calm their shattered nerves, show them the end of the tunnel, and that there is life after bankruptcy.
    2. Appreciate the family and friends that I do have. Love and cherish the time I get to spend with them.
    3. Do something "special" for a "stranger" this year. Strangers in church "blessed me" this past year, helping me keep my home.
    4. Be thankful of all that I have in my life - the good, and the not so good. Could be worse for sure.
    5. Last but not least file a lawsuit against the people who messed up the title on my home, caused me to have to auction it off in bankruptcy and then buy it back all over again....

And I do believe THESE are all resolutions that I will be able to keep this year......

    Minny

"It's amazing the paths that our feet sometimes follow in life".

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I've been thinking about this and I think that mine is going to be "to be good to myself"
Now that, for me at least, covers a lot of ground. Physically, emotionally and spritually and of course everyone knows that you can't really be good to yourself unless you are giving back, helping others and doing good with your life.
Most importantly, I know that being good to myself means that I don't have to do all of those perfectly, it's all just part of the journey.
    Best wishes all, Art

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

For the 8th year in a row mine is to lose 20 pounds! I have extra incentive this year since I am getting married in April!

Other than that I want to pay off my car early and get a puppy, or two.

I need to lose weight-but I won't resolve to do that. Instead, I'll resolve to eat better, and be more active. Got a Pilates video beginners set for Christmas-first step is to watch it, LOL!

Staci - which one did you get? I do the Winsor Pilates and love them. Warning: They are kinda hard at first! Don't worry if your form isn't perfect, the more you practice and build core muscles the better it will get!

I'll look when I get home. Actually I got 2-one from MIL & one from SIL. (I had suggested it-they aren't trying to deliver a message, LOL.) One has a mat & blocks, an the other has a neck pad and stomach pad. Between the 2 I also have a 6 foot strap and a stretchy resistance band. They are not from the same company, but since each set has different items, I think my MIL & SIL planned it well.

I'm thinking this will be something my girls (ages 4 & 5) will do with me. Not seriously, but they'll have fun with it. They each got a little yoga set for Christmas, w/ a mat and a couple of pretend accessories.

For a success story-my mother in law went from a size 14 to a size 6, and has kept it off for more than 2 years. She started with doing Atkins, and keeps carbs in check still. She also increased excercising, though I don't know all her details. (Over the years, she started w/ an excercise bike, then got a treadmill, then for this Christmas got something else.)

My goals are personal-I want to be healthy, and I feel better when I am more active though I tend to be lazy by nature! I don't have a particular weight goal, though I always want to get into the next lower size clothes!

Sounds like you are set! It will be a kick to see the girls trying. I babysit a friend of mine's daughter a lot and she will bring her yoga set over...HILARIOUS!

I find it is great for stress too! Good luck!

Ummmm .... I suppose it is expected that I have the goal of remaining debt-free. So yes, that is a goal.

Let's see, finish at least 2 of the quilts I am making.

Hmmm.... save at least $100.00 per month (don't tell the Trustee).

AND, abstain from gambling one day at a time.

                      My goals:

                      Clean up our credit reports.

Set financial goals and work towards them (staying on a budget, planning towards retirement in 10 years, planning for oldest daughter's college education, etc.)

Get back on Atkins so I can lose the weight and normalize my blood sugars. I am T2 diabetic and my oldest daughter is in the early stages of pre-T2. Together, we can lick this.

As soon as weather permits, start riding my bike to work. I did this 2 summers ago and lost 17 lbs.

Try to be a better mom, wife and a responsible member of society.

Help others as much as possible with their bankruptcies.

                      Learn to like myself.

Mine is to stick to working out at the gym. Been going pretty steady now for 2 months, was going 1 to 2 times per week for about 4 months prior. My goal is to be in the 400 club on the bench press (doing 315 now). My other goal which is most important is to get a job and save some cash. Been looking at some small fire proof safes since I no longer have a checking account. From now on I'm just going to send money orders for the bills I have. I'm not putting my money in a bank account so some a-hole creditor can levy it.

Another important goal for me is to stay sober. For years I could drink 6 to 12 beers a day but it started taking its toll on me earlier this year. I no longer can even handle drinking 4 beers without feeling like crap the next day. I guess that was my sign to slow down or stop. My blood pressure was border line pre hypertension too. I still have a few drinks every now and then with friends or when I want a drink with a meal, but I haven't been drunk since the summer, and don't plan on ever getting that way again. Going to the gym keeps me away from it too since it seriously damages my energy levels to work out.

                            New Year Resolutions:

1.To make any collectors effort wasted...I'd make their lives as miserable as Jobs, (Biblical figure) But since they don't have a relationship with God, that's a waste anyway.

                            2. Pay all bills first, entertainment afterward.

                            3. Try and say "Good Morning" and meaning it.

4, Help those in bankruptcy, calm their fears and give advice that's grounded in solid legal fact and not "How I think it should be"

4A. Give advice to those who wish to TRULY make the collectors lives miserable. (There are books on the market, which detail how to duck bills and make the collectors run around getting nowhere)

                            5. Cut back/Stop....(Sigh) gambling...Yes...I know....I am..I go, but still I go back...damnit...

                            6. Take heart from Older nephews change from possibly being gray bar hotel occupant, to responsible adult. Though it took years, people CAN change!

6A. Take heart from Older Nephew and only Neice finally settling their nearly decade long dislike and actually hugging and saying "See you later" and meaning it, giving hope Older and younger sister will patch up their disagreement. (Man, when this family dislikes you, it's not for a week or so, it's a freaking LONG time..Mom still hates her oldest nephew due to abusing his Mother..And this is 25 YEARS and continuing!)

                            7. Truly try and find something which pleases me, and to pass it along to those who also want it part of their lives.

                            8. Adding more as they come to me....

you guys are killing me here with the goals... you are making me look bad!

why dont you all re-make your goals and list only 1 simple thing. make sure you can do it.

for example, "My goal will be to find a new cereal that I like this year"
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!
