I'll wait till it hit DVD...I have seen the cartoon version...Sad that they have already made it into a viscious, violent game. Though I wonder if the "Basis" of the movie, was kept and how some of those playing it may.."Get Religion"
Or Robvi, was it worth sitting in the theatre watching it? I might even though I am a (Hack! Cough!)heavy (Hackkkk! Patooey!) smoker....

Yes, it was well worth it. Saw King Kong also, didn't get real exited about it. It was no doubt an excellent film, to me it was very long and once again the logistics, getting the ape on and off the ship, etc... are not explained. The actors were great, the script was good but the native culture made no sense. I mean to build the big wall and all they'd have to be at least somewhat intelligent and not thunderstruck and stupid."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." Yeah, can relate to the Kong boredom...A couple of friends took younger sister to see it..She'd slept a couple hours that day and fell asleep in the movie..She was so bored...

Good word for it, boring. I also fell asleep. I sort of stack movies against Lord of the Rings, now. All movies that want to be blockbusters for the sake of blockbustering only seem to pale in comparison.
I place, Sci-Fi, Romantic comedies, War Movies and Westerns in another compartment. Narnia, if taken as a childrens film is far better than Kong. Narnia is well worth the sit and the $9.00 to see it. I never read the books but it seems to be a simple explanantion of Christian theology and in general the way the creation, men and celestial beings responded to the fall of Adam. I would take any child to see this movie no matter what the faith, the theme is common to most belief systems. Loved it, it begins during the London Blitz and the four children were evacuated to Scotland or Northern England to a large home run by some actually real nice people (you don't get that idea from the previews). The English Countryside and Trains are all beautifully portrayed and Narnia of course is full beauty. Unlike Lord of the Rings everything is not set at 28,000 feet and a child will never feel like they are going to fall, Narnia is gentle and the creatures are very graceful.
Liam Neeson is Aslan, a magnificent Lion (Christ, if you really wish to know). There is no blood of any kind in the film, no gore and nothing is gratuitous. This is Disney Film the way Walt would have loved it.Last edited by robivi3; 01-03-2006, 04:20 AM."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." OOoooOO! Then I will go see it. I haven't paid any attention to reviews, but if it's a "No gore' then it's a worthwhile venture....
Thanks!

i took my recently turned 7 yr old the day after xmas to see this movie. It was fantastic! And it was really nice to have an epic battle without any blood or gore! During the long battle scene, my son kept slipping further and further forward in his chair, eventually resting his elbows on the seat in front of him with his chin in his hands, he was watching that intently!
This will absolutely be added to our DVD collection once it comes out.

Movies cost $9 now? Can you tell how long since I've been to a standard movie?
There is still 1 drive in near us, and we go in the summer sometimes. $6 per adult for admission, that includes 2 movies and kids are free. We even take our own popcorn, drinks, etc. The only thing we need to buy from the concession stand is butter! Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. Staci, Staci, Staci...i don't understand. You're smart enough to take the sugar and creamers ffrom the convenience stores and you forget to steal, er I mean borrow, take the butter packets from places? Shame on you. Sorry folks, I only go to Muvico in Davie Florida. It is huge, Egyptian and expenseive... and worth every dime. That being said... when the boys were small as were the paychecks and my wife was at home we did our share of "sneak your soda and candy in at the dollar theatre. Our last dollar theatre in Davie spruced up and now it's about 4.00 but they fixed it nice my boys say. But for me, I never want to see any movie anywhere but Muvico in Davie, all theatres pale in comparison, the place is magnicent, 24 massive screens, great sound and worth the 9.00 per head. I'm older now, and the finances are 3,000,000 percent different from 3 years ago, now that i don't pump money into the side business and fret over the bills.
Lord of the Rings, even Kong and yes, Chronicles are once in a lifetime movies and for me at this point in life i can enjoy them with the family in the theatre. I go when it's empty, except for "fan" films like Star Wars which are best seen with fans. Ever since i stood up in Planet of the Apes and told the guy with his cell phone to pay my ticket (he didn't) I don't go on Fridays anymore."You once asked me for advice. You want some now?
