I am not an attorney. My comments are based on personal experience and research. Always consult an attorney in your area to address concerns related to your particular situation.
Another good thing about being poor is that when you are seventy your children will not have declared you legally insane in order to gain control of your estate. - Woody Allen...

This is a good one for SCAMMER to pipe in and rub in how much he is worth!! Oh, come on now, wouldn't you all just love to hear him brag about himself????
Scammer is a bit flippant from time to time. He can also be very pointed in his remarks. And he's definitely not in the same financial league as most of us, but the guy does know business. He offers a ton of knowledge when he opens up and answers people's questions.

In paid off vehicles, maybe 13000.00. In home equity about 120,000.00. in land about 45000.00. what the hell difference does it make? If my son was dying i would sell it IN A HEARTBEAT for 10.00 to save his life. And by the way John (or maybe we should say Lightning) what are you worth? It makes no difference, better people than me are and you are worth alot less, owe alot more and will try, fail and try, fail and eventually strike it rich. If you have never BK'd Mr. Lightning why do you return with multiple id's?
While I try to up my net worth, in truth it is meaningless. It can evaporate or be taken in a flash. I am 46, if blessed and lucky i will live to 70, after that what is it worth? i have yet to delude myself that i will drag it into my grave. And yes I would like to leave something to my boys, but they may not even value it, it may be an encumbrance to them. Not to get all "mushy", but better a life well lived. I know alot of hellish people who have no money and afew who have tons and i know one friend with eight kids who was always poor but very happy. His kids went to College, have done well by any standard and he is content still living in Carol City.
I would never want to BK again, I will never pass that road again. But I'd rather BK a hundred times than to be succesful but abusive to family, without friends and a nightmare to be around and old and bereft would be hell on earth to me.
BK is ONE LOUSY FREAKING EVENT IN LIFE, go to the Murderers Forum if you have real concern for prodding folks about activities. I strongly suspect that lightning has multiple id's.
Life Insurance, about 350,000.00. I have Met Optional 5x plus Insurance through my Union.
......I guess with the life insurance policy, I'm definitely worth more dead...I better pay up in case I get hit riding my bike to work...then my 10 year old will have enough $$ for the Ferrari when he turns 16!
