Whatever happened to the dollar theatres for older movies? I'd even settle for $2-3 ones.

Kids saw CARS at the drive in!
...somewhere out in Tucson, AZ and loved it....
Our movie prices in Bradenton/Sarasota are 5.50 and the popcorn is $4.50 so you just know that I'm pre-popping & bringing my drink in with me....in my big purse....there's just no way that I can do w/out the popcorn but hell...our theater popcorn, except for Burns Court in Sarasota, basically sucks & you get sick from the fake oil/butt combo that smells so good....so...best to bring it from home.....Other wise it would be like $25 for two people to go to the show...I can't deal with that...Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

Ok, the girls and I went to the 5pm matinee. They charged 5.00 apiece, even for the 3 yr old. We loved the movie. It was Izzy's first theater movie. Only problem was, she had to "go potty" at least 6 times, and I ain't exagerating, ask the ppl on the bottom row that we had to keep crossing in front of. Then she bawled all the way out of the theater cause she didn't want to go. I knew I knew Doc's voice, but couldn't place him( Paul Newman).
Loved it, absolutely worth the 15 bucks we spent.Chapter 13 filed -8/12/04

Years ago when the boys were small and my wife stayed home I remember going to see Beauty and the Beast with the two oldest at the dollar theatre. There were alot of moms there with kids and we felt self conscious for sneaking in all our stuff, and then the lights went out... and i heard three hundred pop tops open at once!
we were debtless, penniless and driving beaters and never new how much fun we were having, it was a great time. I would love to see my boys small and goofy again and relive those fun days! we felt like it was us against the world. I remember the L.A. riots started and by that time our neighborhood had suffered a downturn that occurred over a two year period... I MEAN FAST... I remember coming home and the five of us getting on our knees and praying for the area (alot of apartments that had started taking in section 8'er's, we got out that year) and the feeling of peace that came over us because of those sincere little kids prayers. Folks, if your kids are small and you are struggling you will get through it, just try and enjoy them while they are small, time flies.Last edited by robivi3; 06-21-2006, 04:00 PM."You once asked me for advice. Robivi3,
I can really relate to the "times gone by".........
When I left home my brother was 10............... NOW he's a grandpa many times over..... my other brother a great-great grandpa..........
Time waits on no one......... and the years "fly by"................
When I was younger I had soooooooo many hours in my days to do things... as I got older, I run out of time in the days.............. not enough hours to do what I want too...... The days fly by and are gone.....
I've always heard that your life speeds up as you get older.... and have found it to be true.....
YES, cherish the time you have with your children when they are young....it will slip away so quickly and much of it you will miss if your not watching....
Years down the road you will look back and say "I could have" or "I should have" or "I wish I could"..... and time has slipped by and its too late......
We are not guaranteed tomorrow........... so live today as if it's the last day of your life......... put everything you go into it and share it with your family and friends............
Because family and the love of family makes the world go around..........

Talking about the Disney & Pixar Cars.....
Well one of our local car dealers have done a "play off" of the movie..... they did a advertisement using their own designs of the cartoon cars.............. they dance, talk, sing, etc....
It is soooooo cute, and a real eye catcher also..... They will sell a bunch of cars with that commercial.....
It might even qualify as a commercial of the year......
Wish you all could see it.............. YOU'D LOVE IT........Minny

I will have to go & see this movie....
...maybe my boys will want to see it again when they come into town next month...It sounds wonderful...
I do not feel guilty about bringing any candy, soda, popcorn...it's almost like the staff expects it these days?Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

It was so cute. Good message for the kiddos, but not sure if they got it. The 5 year old loved it, the 2 year old got squeamish about 3/4's the way through and my sister spent the rest of the movie walking with him thru the mall.*** THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE--ONLY A LAWYER CAN PROVIDE THAT. ***

Best line of the movie "Pit Stop"! Great message, clean, good moral film. I will see it again and buy the DVD. Disney earned this one and they should be supported, they do alot of things I hate, especially certain days at Disney World. That's just the way i feel, but I definitely support them when something good comes along."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." I love how they slip in other humor for the adults that will just go over the head of the kids.
