This is it, selling out down here and leaving. Two years maybe. I have to let the kids get Bright Futures, they have worked to hard for it. Finish house upgrading, sell, cash out with work, pay off a Home up there and build one in fairfield. Took my lot off the market. Looked at housing in the following markets, Spring City (nice), Pikeville/Dunlap (nice, to rural for me but lots of Floridinas buliding lovely homes on large acreage), Dayton and Soddy Daisy (Soddy daisy is a gorgeous upper middle class area outside of Chattanooga). Staying with Crossville/Tansi/Fairfield. I met many Florida refugees including one man who had left my neighborhood after Wilma with three young kids. He bought a new home outright, is working for Dollar General and loves the place dearly. The schools are the biggest plus for him, what a difference."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? robivi3,
I knew that trip would convince you!!!!! Why do you think I left the big city........... Love the country atmosphere, yet close to city enough to do things......
The big cities, and coast lines have turned into "rat races"............. like to visit, but no thanks, don't want to live there............
Welcome back,Minny

Sorry Min, we didn't make it up York Parkway. The Gatlinburg leg cut our time. We stopped for the train ride in Dillsboro NC and saw Thomas the Tank Engine and also the site of the train Wreck from the 1994 Movie "The Fugitive". Train Wreck and Buses are still there, very cool. This problem is that by the time we were in the comfort zone in Crossville it was tiome to leave. Next time I'll likely fly alone to Nashville and rent a car, it's cheaper. Also, Nashville while changed is still my large city of preference Titan. It is my birthplace, it has improved vastly from the 60's and still has the lovely Parthenon, Belle Meade CC and my old 'hood of Forest Hills is more beautiful than ever. I love Nashville. It will always be home in a sense."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." Lieutenant Jean Rasczak, Starship Troopers

I know about love for Nashville! I have lived here for a year (refugee from Sunrise/Coral Springs.) I wouldn't go back to Florida to live if someone paid me. This is my new home, and will be forever if I can help it. I live right on the Madison/Nashville border; close enough to downtown, but far enough away from rush hour.Originally posted by robivi3...Next time I'll likely fly alone to Nashville and rent a car, it's cheaper.
