One thing I recall about the Parthenon was that it was open to all Tennesseans in a time when people were denied entry into other places and seperated in the State Parks. I felt very free in Centennial park opposed to here where someone has to be watching all the time. Nashville has it's problems but I think it has seen many positive changes since the 50's and 60's. It is 100 TIMES cleaner downtown and the SMOG is gone!!!!! THank God the haze is gone!!! I am not an environmentalist lefty but please we need some control and concern for the quality of life, thank God someone is an environmentalsit lefty!

I think I spent $19 for the ticket and it's only a couple of hours away. It's a whole family deal so I'll basically only have to pay for my ticket and meals (which my dad tends to pick up lately or slides a $10 or $20 under the table when we eat out.)

        Nice pics!
I looked it up last night, tickets are $16 in advance. Wonder if it is like Bozo Circus to get tickets? Bozo Circus used to be years before you could get them. Wonder how fast Tom sells out?

Ours were $38 but it was on the regular train and I imagine a longer trip.

Funny how when I was thinking of what to put down for entertainment expenses on the schedules I couldn't think of any. Then, I realized, that usually once a month I take the kids out to a park or the zoo and to eat so I guess they fall under there--and, believe me, they definitely provide entertainment!

They do emissions inspections here in Davidson (Nashville) County, as well as Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson, and Sumner Counties. There were about 4 Elevated Ozone Level days here this summer. Otherwise, it has been most pleasant save the 97+ degree heat wave.

Titan, that is a case where it is good to do it. In Miami Dade they declared it a failure. When you approached the station on 36 street and 27 avenue you would be routionely deluged by 300 tiny latin men (mostly central American) screaming at you and literally shoving leaflets into the car through any crack as though you would seriously let one of these neanderthal mechanics touch your car. Now that is not a slur, just a fact. There were fights, the cops were constantly there and that station especially was rife with corruption. There was a signal system worked out between the attendants and screaming fellows outside. If you failed you were deluged again. The tests are gone and the program declared a failure, like our citrus canker program.

Truth is, we need testing, there are FAR more clunkers on the road per capita here than I saw up there, FAR, FAR more and more than half uninsured. that's why i'm paying near 3600.00 per year. Can I ask what you pay in round numbers for two cars up there? Full coverage, only I don't have uninsured motorist, it would be near 5500.00 with that. I have Comp/coll/liability 100/300,000. 2 cars, wife and I only, with kid it was 9200.00 per year.

I love photos and they're something to treasure when you look back. I get all mushy when I look at my kids photos (they're all teens now) as they were growing up. They don't understand what's all the fuss, but maybe one day they will.

Your photos were great and an inspiration to go visit a new place!!

Full coverage on my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse would be $109 per month with Progressive. I don't have full coverage, because I couldn't afford it. I may increase the insurance coverage in the near future.

An eclipse here would be more than my E350, my Corsica with full coverage at ten years cost more than the 2006 E350.
