I dropped off my packet of information to my attorney today for them to start preparing the paperwork. My date for signing the papers is Oct. 9. They said the appt. would take 1 hour about. Anyone know why it might take so long?

RRG is right. Also you want time to go down every single line on every single form to make sure that the accounts and amounts approximate what you expect and nothing has been accidentally forgotten.
When you sign on the dotted lines, you are swearing that the information is correct to the best of your knowledge. Take the time to review your forms thoroughly - don't just sign and assume all is well.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
