    schedule questions

i know every state and trustee is different, but i'm just trying to get an idea. What does everyone put down for entertainment, laundry, gas and electric, and dr. and dentist bills. Is there somewhere i can go to see what the max i can put down in my state. I live in Ny. I noticed on the means test that you are allowed 55 dollars a person for dr and dentist, can i put that on my schedule J. Thanks and happy to say i do have an appointment on wed. to talk to a lawyer, just trying to get some idea. Thanks again!!!

Try doing a Google search using "cost of living [insert your city name or zip code here]" as the search terms. I get quite a few good hits doing that with our zip code.

One of the most compelling reasons to retain an experienced bk lawyer is that the lawyer will be familiar with maximum living expenses acceptable to the trustees in your local court. It's a big advantage when filing.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

lrprn is correct. A good attorney will change your figures that you put down and ensure they are with the requirements for your state and as much as possible. Usually it ups the figures you insert.

I love this answer. I worried myself sick about this and when I couldn't take it anymore I called my attorney. Our attorney's paralegal told me exactly this. Not to worry she would figure it out and make sure our figures were reasonable and make sure we had our expenses where a CH 7 wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for posting this, if you have a good attorney, that's what they are there for.
