Once your last payment is made, the trustee has to do an audit of all disbursements to your creditors to ensure they've been paid the proper amount. That audit can take 2-3 months, sometimes longer depending on how busy your trustee is and how complex your payment situation was (so sorry to be the one to tell you thisOriginally posted by hopelee9101 View Posti would like to ask some of those who have been discharged, how long after your last payment did it take to get your paperwork?

You have to reach deep down and just be patient. The waiting is horrible after all your time in Ch 13, I know, but there's really no alternative. The nice thing is if your trustee comes up with any extra cash, that will be returned to you.
Hang in there! You are almost done with your 13 - what an incredible achievement!! Only 30% of Ch 13 filers actually finish their plans - you are one of them - congratulations!!I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
06/01/06 - Filed Ch 13
06/28/06 - 341 Meeting
07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection
09/27/07 - Confirmed at last!
06/10/11 - Trustee confirms all payments made
08/10/11 - DISCHARGED !
10/02/11 - CASE CLOSED
Countdown: 60 months paid, 0 months to go

Bought out early 4/06 (filed 4/02). Trustee letter received in June 2006 as to what was going on (audit, etc.) and discharge granted 8/30/06. Did not get the papers until shortly after the discharge date._________________________________________

i'm more of a lurker on this board but it's been really helpful because we too are near the end of our case ... from reading this board it definitely is as lrprn said, it can take 2-3 months and depends on how busy your trustee is.
We were closed by our trustee back in January (and we did get a letter outlining the next steps, so we know we are completed) but we are still waiting for a very large refund check and discharge papers. We were hoping to hear something by this month, but now it's looking more like summer. So, we've sort of been in a holding pattern for 4 months now. lrprn is right, you have to reach waaaaaaaaaaaaay deep down to stay patient with this ... it's tough but we've almost made it!!

I won't repeat all the details as they have been covered in a couple of recent posts I've made but:
- 12/04: 13 filed
- 1/08: 36 months/payments completed (old law)
- 4/1/08: order to stop payroll deductions issued and 'final' disbursements supposedly made, including refund of overpayment made by us
- 4/1/08: trustee's recommendation for discharge issued
- 4/24/08: DISCHARGE ORDER APPEARED ON PACER!!!!
(but still awaiting refund check)
1st order of business: attempt to replace our worn out 15 year old car without being taken to the cleaners by predatory lenders.

I would try cap1 autofinance or road loans. Their % rate may be high, but I got a 12.49% for 72 months with Cap1. I filed CH 7 approx 2 years ago.Originally posted by GettinBy View PostI won't repeat all the details as they have been covered in a couple of recent posts I've made but:
