Before my son left I talked to several young marines who had just returned from Fallujah and Ramahdi. They tell me that real progess has been made within the Country and that those streets are now fairly quiet. They are also having a real estate boom in the some cities as neighborhoods return to relarive safety, relative Iraqi safety that is (a report on the Nightly News).

A good friend of my daughters enlisted and left this past Sunday for basic training. (he will be missing his own high school graduation ceremony) It was a bitter sweet Fathers Day for his Dad. He was shining with pride and at the same time crying tears of sadness. Its men like your son who have prompted so many young men to want to follow in their footsteps. Your son is a true HERO!!
