    Lexington Law Questions...

    Hi everyone~

We're going to be discharged in about a week and I've been reading up on Lexington Law Firm.

Has anyone had any prior experience with them? Is it expensive? Were they successful at removing bankruptcy from your credit report? If so, once you stop your monthly subscription, is it back on your credit report or is it removed forever?

I know I've got a ton of work ahead of me in cleaning up our reports and am not sure if I should do it myself or go with something like Lexington.

    Thanks!

One of our knowledgeable and frequent posters, Cindy, used Lexington and had a good experience. Hopefully she'll log on here and share her experiences. You can search for what she's already posted - you'll probably find it if you seach for Lexington in all forums.

There are others here who used them and weren't as satisfied. Doing a forum search will locate those posts as well.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Within the past few months I put an article in the Bankruptcy & Credit News section of this forum as to how those places operate. May I suggest you view that article, research the forum on here for postings as to pros and cons and do research online on any credit repair place before you spend your hard earned money on trying to make a BK disappear and/or get scammed. Also be aware that CRA's are well aware as to how these places operate and what could have been done before is not as easy to do now and you could just waste several hundred dollars a year.

That was another one of my questions....is it LEGAL what Lexington Law does? You'd think if it wasn't, they wouldn't be in business anymore.

They are in business because they flood the CRAs each month for their clients with disputes stating an account does not belong to that person every 30 days. Disputing is legal - they take it to the extreme and lie for you. Always do your homework before you sign up with any service on the net because there are always people happy with it or people unhappy with it and the service is not cheap. I've never utilized a service but some feel the need that they have to try to get that BK off their records no matter what but a BK never disappears on the records of any creditor or business that you file with. Most will find it was a waste of money and they also have people on the internet that go to forums and try to drum up business from what I have been told. Just do your homework and be careful.

Lex yes or no, and other options

            Hi,

What Lexington Law does is completely legal. I have heard good and bad experiences with them, one of them was that they let you do a lot of work yourself. Meaning, getting your own credit reports and even letting them know how and what to dispute. My opinion is that you hire a company to use their expertise, not to do your work yourself. There are many companies out there, that I believe are better then Lex, And much cheaper. Before doing anything look for a 'Credit Repair Analysis' on Google and see if you can find anything interesting.

Who ever you choose, keep us posted.

            Good luck!

              Lexington has helped me

Lexington Law has removed two bankruptcy public listings from Equifax and Transunion. As well as a host of other bankruptcy accounts removed from all three bureaus. Still have a long way to go. But getting closer to getting all blemishes removed.

I filed chapter 7 on 9/26/05. So the older the accounts get, less likely the creditors will fight your disputes. It takes time, but you have to be patient with Lexington.
