    AOL mail is now free...

    ...if you have another way of getting online...you can have aol for free!

    I like freebies too, but think very carefully before signing up with AOL. They are legendary for how hard it is to stop their internet service once it starts.

      well, I've been paying 29.95 forever & I cancelled today....might just change my bank account #'s as well...this way they can't bill me

        My father just had an AOL trial account and had to call today since they had billed him anyway even though he had cancelled well in advance of his expiration date.

        It's ironic that AOL is making such a big deal about this. If you use AOL messenger, they end up offerring you a free email account, just like yahoo and hotmail were doing forever. And if you cancelled your AOL account, you were able to keep the email address without using them for paid internet connectivity--they just didn't make this common knowledge.
