    Equifax removed my Bankruptcy....................................

And all my baddies, so all that's left is my satisfactory accounts.

However I'm still trying to get 5 baddies off my Experian and 6 off my Transunion report. I've been at this since my filing in Oct. should I lay off disputing for a minute or so becasue Experian sent me a letter stating that they've already investigated the account I'm trying to have removed and unless I had additional proof to support my claim there would be nothing else done.

can you please let us know how. Was it done prematurely, on a dispute of something else, or was it a timely removal?

I kept disputing it as "not mine", I did it certified mail, then I called in and finally online and I was adamant about it, "this does not belong to me please remove it immediately, this is my 2nd, 3rd, 4th request. It took a total of 5 times but I received my revised report yesterday stating it has been removed. I filed back in Oct 05, so it was prematurely.

BTW: I never gave them 30 days to get back to me, I disputed it constantly!

I see. I don't think I'd have the guts or morals to go that way. I've messed my credit life/file once already, I don't need to start off the new life/file on a fraudulent footing. I'm happy for your success though. Me, I have to wait one more year with Trans Union. I also have to figure out a way to get at least a couple more credit cards in the mean time to help build up my credit. Hope to be in a house buying situation this time next year.

that can be tricky dispute. years ago, I disputed a $4000 service, it was mine of course, it had only been on a year, and i kept disputing it, finally they sent me a letter saying it has been deleted, 60 days later, I was sent another letter saying it had been added back on because of verification from the source, and two years after that, it just fell off on all 3 reports...
if you have a creditor that has gone under, dispute away, if they do not respond, then you are in the clear...

as long as cc company responds to the verification, then it will
remain on your credit report, sometimes you do get lucky, but
disputing something you know is yours, and they know is yours...
spill the wheel and see what happens...

I believe that when you know the debt on your credit report is legitimate but you repeatedly dispute it anyway hoping the cc's or the credit agency will make a mistake and remove it, you only add fuel to the fire of the cries that "everyone who files bankruptcy can really pay their bills and are just deadbeats." What you are advising this person to do is slimy at best. And worst of all, it's taking up the agency's and cc's time that could be spent correcting legitimate errors. My $0.02.

What Happens when you Succeed in getting a collection agency removed from you files and the actual company may change collection agencies ? Does that new agency they hire appear on your credit again? I would think so . Just a thought???
