NFCU is my new favorite!

I joined them yesterday since my roommate has an account with them and applied online today for a rewards visa with them and was APPROVED for $5000!

I'm SO excited, I applied to refi my auto with them too and will find out about that tomorrow.

Congrats, I thought I hear somewhere that a CU wouldnt pick you up after a bankruptcy. Guess I was wrong..

I've researched it alot and NFCU seems to be BK friendly. I'm just one of many that's been approved after BK. I know some others aren't like PFCU and maybe your local CU.

585 is my Equifax which is what they pull 99% of the time I believe.

Yea NFCU stands for Navy Federal Credit Union and they are great. We have been members for 20 years with no problems.

lol, what i really want to do is refi my vehicle to get a more affordable note, if we do get any cc, i don't plan to use them, other than to re-estab! we hope to eventually work toward buying a home. 90% of what we filed was medical, so it feels extra good to have that gone, it has been an awful guilt to carry around, since i was the sick one!

Well they're not my favorite 24 hours later....my membership, and consequently my cc and auto refi apps, were revoked. Apparently because my roommate also filed for BK(NFCU was included) he cannot sponsor me for membership. I even appealed to them and it's a no go. I have no other way in with them.

I was a member of NFCU for my first 4 years in the Navy. I had nothing but problems with them. Their Customer Service sucks. And if you ever file against them, you will never be able to get an account with them.

I like USAA way better.

If the rumors are true that they're opening membership to all branches of the military, then my dad would be eligible since he's retired AF, and THEN I could get back in again.

to join NFCU, you need to know someone that is in the navy right? what if you don't know anyone, can you still join?
