I usually shop at Target to get home essentials which is cheaper than at the grocery store. Everytime I would get to the cashier I was being offered the "Would you like to save 10% on your purchase by applying for a Target card?" speech. Anyway, I never did but on 01/25/09 when I had to return something I had a receipt that had a Preapproval number on it so I decided to apply and got approved. Well it's been over 2 weeks now and I still haven't received the card. Is this normal for them to take so long? I am just afraid they may have changed their minds or something.

It's one of two things; your card is just delayed or after your preapproval, they reviewed your credit reports and declined. Preapproved does not mean a thing because they are going to review your credit after you apply and you still can be declined. Read the information handed to you by the clerk. I certainly hope it is just delayed for you._________________________________________

I am not sure what is going on. I still haven't received the card. I am more worried about identity theft than actually receiving the card. I imagine I should get a letter stating I was decline but haven't received that either. I applied 01/25/09 and today it is 02/13/09. Okay just an update if anybody is interested. I still have not received that card! Friday I called the 800# found on the receipt if I had a question on my account. I get through the computerized person but I need to speak with a live person the line goes dead. Today I decided to call the other 800# found in the application booklet and found out my account is open with a zero balance. I got through a live person called Valentina (funny being Valentines weekend!) who told me their systems are down if I could call back Monday. I am seeing red.Comment
