whats a good amt to put on a card every month to keep it open?
i just got a cap one cc with 1000 limit. i plan on paying it off every month and wanted to know what a good amt to place on the card would be so they dont close it.
Since you just opened your card they are not going to close it unless you don't use it for a year or more and then it may get reviewed. Utilize the card now and then and pay it off. Never carry a balance of more than 1/3 of your limit on this or any card. Use it wisely and pay it on time and they will probably raise your limit in about a year or so. Just be careful you do not revert back to old credit card ways if that was what made you file for BK. So many folks post on here having to file again after several years cause the cards got them in trouble again. I always say, learn to control your money - don't let it control you.

It is my opinion, zero use is good for a credit card. Use a debit card on the "credit side" as the law is different in the way you use it.
What do you think got you here? Credit?????? Yes it did. Take one inch then the mile. When we started to bounce checks after 42 years of never bouncing one check, the solution was; when the checks ran out, I refuse to reorder. Works for me. Please after all you are going through, CHuck the old ways. A debit card can get you a motel or rental car. What the H*ll you need more credit? 'Hub
