You may want to use it every couple of months otherwise you risk the chance they will close the account.

Just applied and was approved for $500. I currently have an account with Orchard Bank ($300) and Hooters ($300). 3 is the magic number, I'm done for a long time. I'll be happy to close the first (hooters or orchard) that charges a renewal annual fee.

If you don't mind me asking what were the credit scores of those who received the $300 & $500 limits?

SWEET...I applied on Monday and got approved this morning for $300! I am pumped. Don't plan to use it much, but it will come in handy when I need to rent a car for business travel.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can this card only be used at Best Buy? Even though I use a debit card, many car rental places want a credit card at least on file.

It all depends on what HSBC gives you... some have $0AF, others have $39 like myself. or $59, just like some have 18% (like me) or lower interest (not me) and others have over 22% interest. Just depend on the person reviewing your application and whatever HSBC uses for each of those perimeters.

My best buy card has an annual fee as well. My limit is 500 as well. I think mine was more than 39 dollars though.

So far except for the high AF for the Credit1, I like that card better as it is reporting to all three bureaus and started the next day after I activated the card, were as HSBS/BestBuy still doesn't show on any of my reports almost two months later. Also, use your Banks online bill pay as your payment will be posted to your HSBC/BestBuy account and your CL will also reflect the payment, unlike using BestBuy online payment it will post your payment but put a 10 day hold on your CL before your CL shows your payment! Credit1 has no holds even with their online payment Oh, well it's a start!
how are you paying an annual fee of 39 dollars for bestbuy rewards my card said no annual fee?
