No not having a bad day at all. Not trying to be an ass either. You cant tell someone emotions from reading there comments. I guess I am seeing something different then. I struggled through paying debt off and I said the same thing when I got my first card that I would be responsible but then I learned the hard way that debt cards are not a smart thing. But when I read about people on here just filing and getting discharged then going out and paying a bank 10.00 a month plus annual fees and intrest just to have there card to rack up more balances I just dont get what is so smart about that. I mean why not save and build a personal savings account and maybe invest in some mutual funds or your retirement account. Why not enjoy your moeny and use it wisely now that you are free of those predator Debt card companies who are sucking the life out of so many people. It is almost like a woman who is getting the crap kicked out of her and getting a divorce then running right back to another man who kicks the crap out of them to.

Look mike9302, I'm sure everyone would agree with you that incurring too much after BK is not a wise thing to do. WE GET IT! You don't need to go thread jumping and post the same sort of comments in the trheads.

You've spoken your opinions.......you've said what you wanted..........now let it go.

Could you do an estimate for us please...

...on how long you expect someone currently renting, perhaps having lost a house, and with an old junker car to be able to save enough cash a) for a car when the current 10 year old one dies, and b) for enough cash to buy even the oldest, smallest condo in a an area such as mine (efficiency condo going for $89,000) on a salary under median income for most midwestern states? Credit is necessary at some point to rebuild a life after bankruptcy. Most of us on this forum do not have six figure salaries. Before you make any more plugs for the Ramsey method or denigrate people's choices here, carefully read some of the posts in the rebuilding credit area, and you will see WHY BK filers feel a need to get on with their lives in real world situations.

I dont know where you folks live but you can buy in my area a decent size house that is in a really good area for under 100,000 and it is not a trailer or a house that floods or a yard that you could spit across. My neighbor is selling his house with all new appliances and a new roof for 95,000 and it is not in a flood area at all. It is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home with about 1700 sf. I am paying 475 a month for my apartment now and I have about 14,000 saved up towards the downpayment of a home when I decide to get one. That money came from saving from my work check, and doing side jobs such as running a lawn service in the summer and working on peoples cars for side work and also not letting Visa have any of my money.

We're beating a dead horse folks. This member will stick around if we choose to reply, thus infecting these threads with this cancer. Think for one second, what was this thread about (without looking at the first post)? Can you remember? Ah, the cancer killed it.

You people are really smart and give great advice about getting the most from your discharge and also other tips and hints to make things easier but for financial decisions you people make some really stupid choices. I enjoy the site and reading and learning about tips and most of the time I dont reply but after reading this section I am floored about how irresponsible you people are when it comes to money. But I guess I will be reading in 7 more years about your next bankruptcy case. But it still cracks me up you pay 10.00 a month just to get such a petty card and then pay high intrest on that plus a yearly fee. I bet the folks at that bank are falling out of there chair wondering how much dumber you can get. So wonder the people in this country have over 1 trillion in credit card debt.

No... it seems that Lightning has returned under a new monniker. I live HERE and HERE under 100k will NOT get you a trailer on a lot. Most of you know my employment situation. 250k will NOT buy you a home south of Alachua County. 325k is the starting price all over SoFla, thats 2bdr. SF on a 75X100 lot. 250k gets you a condo or small TH IF you are lucky enough to find but the lower the price the higher the maintenance fee. Average fee is 220.00, in my mothers retirement condo (55+) the 600.00 but includes insurance. 23k down here even single people would not eat three squares a day, no one would work for it save immigrants and the going rate for Mexicans doing roofing starts at $100.00 per day cash for a beginner, they "ain't" stupid either. God Bless them, they are needed here. And work fast and only have to have "to code" explained once.

Rent, forget it, teem up with twenty people. The apartments around here look gorgeous from the street but may have nine or ten roofers living in them. At 2 grand a month few people move in, most try to get a home.

Lightning's returned folks, live with it.

Okay guys we dont owe anyone an explanation as to why we make our financial choices so let's not give him or anyone else the satisfaction or the time of day by being defensive. He is not our judge and jury and is not responsible for our bills. It is easy to sit back and judge. He obviously gets some kind of sadistic enjoyment posting on our forum. He makes a very low salary comparatively speaking and still manages to keep his head above water...kudos to him. Lots of us have children and elderly parents to care for which are very high priorities and along with them come financial obligations which sometimes cant be budgeted but regardless, those are personal decisions. I have to admit when I read his first post I wanted to rail on him too and then I thought why...The rest of us are here to support each other; that should be our focus...who cares what he says?

                        Mike-

Do you mind if I ask you where you live? Where I am (New England), anything that is located in a place that is close enough to civilization that you can get to work, and still be in a neighborhood where you aren't going to get shot, is going to run you at bare minimum $700, and that is a bare bones studio without electricity or anything other than heat.

I certainly would love to move to a place where you can find a decent house under $100,000. Want to know how the job situation is in a place like that? Are there anything other than your typical mechanical jobs? Some of use aren't good at that stuff.

Cloudship, in the future please don't pull up old threads that are more than two months old and post on them - it's against forum rules. "Mike" doesn't come to the forum any longer and can't answer your questions.
