    Staring at the finish line

Well, we made it through the plan, pacer shows about to close, however we have now hit a couple of snags. The first was the debtor education. Out lawyer had us enroll in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University shortly after filing. The class was great and really helped us have a successful plan, but it apparently didn't (or doesn't anymore) qualify as debtor education! This was easily fixed and we took the Dave Ramsey online course specifically approved for debtor education. The videos were excerpts from financial peace and nothing new, so it was fairly easy. It just cost us an extra $25 plus 2.5 hours on a Saturday night. That part was easy. The hard part is the lawyer, who is still in business apparently, WILL NOT call us back. We need our final request for discharge filed by him, and even the paperwork to show proof of debtor education has a spot for him to sign. For 2 weeks we have been leaving messages and nothing. His automated attendant gives the option for existing or new clients and when we select existing we get sent to voicemail hell. If we select new client we at least talk to a real person who promises someone will call but no one does. We are standing at the finish line and this is the absolute last step to starting over. Argh, so frustrating.

I have no words of advice short of showing up at the office. This is pretty important. It must be painful I'm pretty sure you've been patient enough! Show up....

      Congratulations on completing your plan!

I agree that if your attorney hasn't gotten back to you after 2 weeks you should show up at his office.

That's what it took. Had to show up and poke him with a stick.

Should have used one of those sticks that shock the hell out of'em. Glad to see you on your way Amadan. Hopefully the trustee is a bit more action oriented, then again that is likely why he/she is a trustee.
