Does means test matter after confirmation re: moving to higher CoL state?

I'm almost a year into my Ch 13 and everything is going smoothly. I'm in a field where it's not uncommon to move to another state for a job. I'm currently in a very low CoL area, which was the main factor in me being in a Ch 13 instead of a 7. If I find a job in a high CoL area like New York with a modest pay increase, is median income taken into effect to lower my plan payment? Or would I be forced into a 7?

No. Means Testing is relative to the date you file and is based on your venue and the calculation of which State's exemptions apply. However, since this is a Chapter 13, you should ask your attorney. If moving to a higher cost-of-living area, you may want to look at your Means Test and/or Schedule I/J to see if you can really afford this.

    Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
