question about rent

We have just turned our paperwork into the lawyer. We are surrendering our house and the lawyer thinks that chapter 13 is our only option. The amount that they allow for rent is 1350 but in our area houses that rent for that are nothing but run down junk. My standards arent high but these houses are about to fall down. We found a house that the landlord is willing to do a 2 year lease but we have to sign by Friday but we don't move in until June. The rent amount is 2000.00 its a nice home, and houses in our area are few and far between... I don't know what to do???

If $2,000/month is what decent housing for your family costs, then that's how much it costs. Has your lawyer told you what your district bk court and trustee will think about that rent amount?
