Filed old law - early Ch 13 pay off

Hello everybody. I just discover this forum and glad its here.

I think, under the old law at least, making early payments can be a good thing, depending on which state you are in.

My attorney told me that her clients who have been able to pay off before the 36 months have had no issues with the trustee expecting more payments. They encouraged me to do so, if I can.

I am still an active 13 with up to 14 months to go. I plan on paying off mine in 6-8 months.

Good advice from your lawyer. This is a big advantage of filing under the old Ch 13 law. Early payout was possible after 36 months. The current Ch 13 law has no such guarantees written into it

Good luck - hope everything goes as planned for you!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
