The time line is not so much about time, as it is "number of payments". If you're in a 36 month plan, what that really means is you need to make 36 "payments". Generally, your first payment is due within 30 days of filing, so for all intents and purposes, a 36 payment plan takes 36 months to complete.

that kinda confuses me...because my payments are weekly. They told me that my plan would be over after 36 months or when i pay my base whichever is longer. I think actually i will have to pay 36 months and 3 weeks from filing date to hit my base. Thanks for all your help.
