Confused about Ch 13 discharge

Hi I'm a newbie but i'm glad I've found you guys. I'm currently in chpt 13 everything has been paid off (100%) and there is $2100 overage, my payroll deductions are still coming out of my paycheck... when will they stop and how long before i'm discharged. Thank U in advance

Welcome to BK Forum - so glad you found us! Congratulations on making it through your Ch 13 - fantastic!!

I'm currently in chpt 13 everything has been paid off (100%) and there is $2100 overage, my payroll deductions are still coming out of my paycheck... when will they stop and how long before i'm discharfed.

At the end of Ch 13, your trustee has to do an audit to ensure that all creditors have been paid in full. It can take 2-3 months (sometimes longer in a very complicated case) to do that.

Call your lawyer and ask him/her to ask the trustee how much longer it's going to take to discharge your case.

And rest assured - you will receive back all overcharges once your trustee closes your case making a tidy nest egg to start off your new financial life!

minime, I found this fabulous board just this spring, or so. I've gone the last FOUR YEARS without much support on this. I finally decided to look. It was because of this board that I actually started to feel better about myself, about my bankruptcy, and take a look at this positively and not kick myself in the behind.

Feel like crying

I just logged onto my trustee's website and tears came to my eyes. Next to my case number were the words *close pending-paid out-discharge* I only have this site to celebrate with so drinks are on me.Thank you all soooooo much. If there is ever anyone who needs a shoulder or an ear I'm here.

Congratulations!!! Our trustee took around three "extra" payments out of my paychecks before they finally closed the account and issued us a refund check. BOY, that was a good feeling ... seeing that big fat check in the mailbox! Of course, my hubby was quick to point out that it was only OUR money he was returning to us ... but STILL ... that felt GOOD!
