    Trustee and Bank Statements

My question is has anyone ever been asked to produce bank statements once you get confirmed? Is the only thing, once confirmed, that the trustee asks for is tax returns?

    Thanks!

I haven't had to provide my trustee with anything other than my tax refunds.

Yes, we had to provide one year's worth of checking account and savings account statements and explain deposits in excess of $1,000 and checks written over a certain amount (I believe it was $500). We also had to provide the prior year's tax return, six months of paystubs and provide the Trustee with a copy of our state and federal tax returns each year within 5 days of filing. And that was old law. Things became much stricter under the new law and that goes to show you the difference in what goes on and what some Trustees require or don't think it is necessary. Be prepared to produce any financial information cause it may be a requirement.

wow, that really stinks!!! We had to do NOTHING! He doesn't ask for tax returns, bank statements...NOTHING..Just make your payment each month and you're golden.

Nine months after confirmation we had to supply 3 months bank statements and check stubs and any unexplained $ going in and out. We were told to expect this audit and we made it through with no problem. I think it was because our payment plan is a 0% payback and our expensed showed we were in the hole each month.

This is a fine example of each case being "different" and each Trustee is different in what they ask for......

No two bankruptcy's are alike by any means!!! Just similar in some ways......

How did you know to expect the audit? Was it one of the "random" audits that you hear about, or was it for another reason.

I heard that random audits have been halted for the time being due to budget issues in the nat'l bankruptcy group, but my Chp 13 datacenter accounts says my status is "eligible for audit", so I'm wondering what that means.

We were told at our 341 to expect it. My husband was not working at the time and they expected a large increase in our income. Didn't happen so our #'s stayed about the same.

How long after you were confirmed did you have to produce them?
