I was reading the fine print about the $29.95 charge from HSBC to transfer your refund to your bank account. (on the H&R block website). It mentions something about HSBC has the right to use the refund to pay outstanding debts that may be owed to HSBC or its affiliates. It does say that it cannot apply the refund to those accounts discharged in bankruptcy, but does not state anything about debts currently included in Ch 13 cases. I'm not sure I should risk using this type of service. I need all of my refund to fix my main roof on my house and replace my garage roof. I got permission to use the refund, so I'm not trying to use my return without the go ahead from the trustee.
Anyone have experience with electronic tax filing with a service (like H & R Block) and confiscation of funds?
