what is more accurate...13datacenter or Pacer?

Pacer is much more accurate as it reflects the information that the court has received. 13Datacenter relies on someone to manually input the information from Pacer I believe, there isn't a direct feed. I've noticed several inaccuracies on my data center account (such as my case being closed when I'm only 9 months into it) that you definitely wouldn't see on Pacer.

jnjw, I noticed the same thing on mine, the Pacer account only had a few claims filed, for a total of about 50K, while I had a bunch more, over 85K worth, filed on the 13datacenter site. It really makes a difference too, because I am in 65% payback plan, and if only 50K file, I'd be able to pay back 100% and still finish my plan about 9 months early, but if 85K filed, I'm in it for the full 60 months. My time period to make claims just ended last week, which is why I checked on the Pacer site, just to see if it had any different than the 13datacenter, assuming Pacer would be more up to date, then was surprised to find out it had less claims than the 13datacenter! so I was also wondering about the difference, figure I'll just have to wait until my trustee sends me a statement many months from now I guess...Filed CH 13 September 17, 2007

PACER is the official court database website, and is where you go to track major events in your case (i.e. anything that needs to be filed with the court)
The 13datacenter is a private service that many trustees use and its only function is for tracking claims, payments, etc over the course of your chapter 13 payment plan.
Keep in mind, the chapter 13 trustee will enter all the claims that you put on your petition...over the course of the time between filing and confirmation, that info will be updated and supplemented by the claims that actually get filed by creditors.
So in that respect, as far as tracking "claims", PACER is more accurate because all creditor claims must be filed with PACER.

It's Monday and today is a federal holiday. PACER typically updates paper documents filed once every business day and on a federal holiday there's no one there to do that. I don't know how electronic filings are accepted on federal holidays...perhaps they are delayed. Be patient!
In Ch 13 your non-government creditors have 90 days to file claims - http://www.uscourts.gov/bankruptcyco...chapter13.html . The only time you can count on knowing exactly who filed claims is on day 91 after filing. Getting into a tizzy about perfectly matching PACER and 13DataCenter or 13Network (another group of Ch 13 trustee websites) before day 91 is a waste of precious energy. After day 91 THEN you ask your lawyer to deal with any discrepancies.
Go create/review/tweak your family Ch 13 budget instead - that's a more fruitful use of your time right now. What will be, will be. Fretting about claims showing or not showing anywhere before day 91 won't change a thing.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

on pacer it shows collateral I'm surrendering as a secured creditor for the full amount. On 13datatcenter it shows the surrendered collateral as a full unsecured claim. 13data is also showing 1 less creditor that filed a claim showing on Pacer. But I figured Pacer is more accurate, but just wasn't sure since the 13data shows my payments posted.
My confirmation isn't until Feb 21, but I have made 3 payments. How soon will the trustee actually send me a statement of disbursements and balances or do I need to request from them?

In my case, 13datacenter was not accurate until about 1-2 weeks after my case was confirmed (as far as claims...etc). 13datacenter is a good way to keep track of payments made to trustee and to follow your case after it is confirmed. I wouldn't count its accuracy until a few weeks after confirmation, then it should be right on.Chapter 13 Filed 4/03/06  341 Meeting Complete 5/11/06 :yes2:

Our trustee sends us an accounting of our plan disbursements on paper every six months. Don't know if that's typical or not - your lawyer can tell you what to expect.Originally posted by busbis View PostHow soon will the trustee actually send me a statement of disbursements and balances or do I need to request from them?
Our trustee sends out his disbursements on the last day of each month. I can see the disbursements within a few days after they go out on our trustee's website at 13Network. Again, I don't know if this pattern is typical or not.
And fyi...most Ch 13 trustees do not like to be contacted directly by their filers. Their staff will telll you to call your lawyer and work through him/her to get questions answered instead.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Our datacenter account wasn't accurate until probably 8 months after we filed. It took 5 months to get confirmed and it was still incorrect for a few more months after that. And our trustee JUST made our first disbursement this month, despite the fact that we had 9 payments sitting there. So our first 6 month statement had nothing but zeros on it.
