Ch.13 is over in May, should I send last payment in early?

My paycheck has been garnished for the past 36 months. I don't get paid until the end of the month, so I was thinking about sending a check in a few days so they will have it earlier. Will that help speed the process up?
Not sure how to stop my check from being garnished. I'm assuming the payroll dept will have to have notification from the Trustee? I just can't tell them to stop, can I?
I know if I pay early in May, my check will probably still be garnished as well at the end of the month. We'll get that money refunded, so I'm ok with that as long as it might up our discharge earlier.
Do you think its worth it? Or should I just let the garnishment continue?

The Trustee is the only person who can stop the garnishment of your Chapter 13 payments. It really doesn't make any sense for you to make your last payment in advance and then let them garnish it again because it will take two to three months to get the extra payment back. An audit needs to take place by your Trustee and it can take 90 or more days before you are discharged. I would consult with your attorney as to what you want to do and see what he/she has to say. Don't bother

The trustee will get to you when he/she gets to you.

Their priority is the folks filing-- becasue they are the ones who will still provide them with an income. You are no longer income producing.

Trustees take their good old time closing out a CH13. Granted-- it's complicated-- but you have just moved to the very bottom of their priority list. Nothing you can do will hurry them up. It sucks.

Congradulations! by the way. It will be over in three or four months.

By the way: Flamingo is correct. Only the trustee can stop the garnishment. Mine managed to get three extra payments out of me by not puttin in the stop when the plan funding was complete. He had extra payments becasue of a bi-weekly pay check rather than a monthly. He got three extra paymnst, but it was refunded at the end. It was a nice litte savings account for me.

My last payment just posted today. I called the trustee's office and she told me after the final disbursment to my creditors, I will get a letter in about 2 weeks. So for me that is right about the time I would be sending in another payment. So hopefully, I won't have to make one in May either. I am with you, I can't wait for this to be OVER!!
