    Not Sure What To Do

Well the "end is REALLY in sight" (just made 58th payment) and now I've discovered something on my credit report that seems wrong.
I haven't pulled the other two reports but am planning on doing that soon.

There IS a new negative addition pertaining to a creditor that WAS included in the C13.

This states that as of 12/03 (I filed on 9/03 and confirmed 11/03) an installment amount well over 11K has now climbed to 15K and has gone to collection as of 4/08.
It also states that "account information disputed by consumer" (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act)

    COLLECTION AS OF APRIL 2008?

My attorney will NOW charge me MORE to explore the situation.

Should I just wait and see what the other two CCRA report?

    I am freaking out here!!!

I have not had any notice from anyone about this.

The name of the business reporting this is
Main Street Acquisitions which I googled but have NOT found a phone number.

    What should I do?

    HELP and thanks.............

Since the creditor was included in your BK, there is no reason to freak out and what you are experiencing is quite common. There is no need for your attorney to get involved.

Get your other two credit reports from the other two agencies. As to the one in question, dispute the item and enclose a copy of your creditor matrix from your filing along with the dispute letter. Do it by mail and send via certified mail. State in your dispute letter that this creditor was included in your filing on xx/xx/xxxx and you are enclosing proof of that filing. Request the information to be corrected. THe account should be adjusted to just be listed as being in bankruptcy with no late payments, charge offs, etc. showing.

You are very close to discharge. You may find after discharge after you get things cleaned up that some information may revert back to the old incorrect information. We have been disputing several items for almost two years, get them cleaned up and lo and behold, pull reports six months later and they are back to the old information!

Just know that what you are experiencing is quite common - just be diligent in trying to keep your reports as clean as possible knowing that during the coming years after discharge and before the BK is removed from your credit reports 7 years from the date of your filing, that you may encounter things you will just have to continue to dispute.

      Flamingo,

Thanks! I was almost getting ill with worry and you've given me relief knowing that this is a common occurrence when close to discharge.

I'll follow your instructions to the letter!

You are a breath of fresh air and thanks again for helping me.

What freaked me out is/was the date stated that this was JUST sent to collection...4/2008....LAST MONTH?

We had leased a 2001 black sports car to celebrate our 30th anniverarsy and the success of of my late husbands business venture which heading towards seven figures, in ten short years. A second career dream. He was a genius in our eyes.

I spoke to him at 1 pm. I got a phone call at 5 telling me..............he died at 3pm. A heart attack. Thank GOD he had just parked his big rig!

At least he had 9 months to celebrate with two machines (his "big rig") he truly knew how to drive. I tried to hang on to his dreams and kept up the business as long as I could but in the end the C13 prevailed.
I took the car back myself.
The house/property went too. We gambled big and lost.

Talk about a 180. Well you all know the feeling. This forum has been a blessing.

      Thank you all again!
