you might want to consider an FHA secured which can be done once you have been in your chapter 13 for 12 months and have made all payments on time to the trustee etc. There are other requirements of course but that is the main one.

Pay off balloon mtg in 13?
Wow - thats interesting rrockinggramma! So you think after 12 months in a 13 we could refi our balloon mtg (that comes due in 2 years and 3 months) ?Originally posted by rrockinggramma View Postyou might want to consider an FHA secured which can be done once you have been in your chapter 13 for 12 months and have made all payments on time to the trustee etc. There are other requirements of course but that is the main one.
I was so worried about what we were going to do when that balloon payment comes due. - which is one of the reasons we have paid a little extra towards our mortgage - to get it down (plus get rid of PMI).Last edited by PoorGrammyinBK7; 06-11-2008, 06:50 PM.Filed Ch 7 -- July 9, 2008

I was told at the time that ARMs were the best deal. I could get into an into one and have a cheaper initial payment, then in a few years when market values went up, refinance into a conventional. I was tricked, or atleast misled into this type of loan. I kick myself now, but its to late.Originally posted by MajorMike View PostIve never seen so many people with an ARM then in this forum. i dont even know anyone that has one..friends and family included.
