    Changing jobs chapter 13

I have over 2.5 yrs completed of a five year plan and have a potential new job offer that would pay a little better . Obviously I am reluctant at this point because I a not sure if when you change jobs and notify the trustee they scrutinize your case and your new income etc. Currently my payments are made by a wage order. This far in I just hate to rock the boat and I never want to go through another meeting with a trustee again.

    Any Thoughts
    Thanks

    Dylan,

If this new job is a better opprotunity for you, then go for it. I know it will be a pain to contact the Trustee and have the wage order moved, but you only have 2.5 more years left. If this job will be something you plan on staying at longer than that, the go for it!!

Let you're lawyer know. He will know if your wage increase is enough to bother the trustee with. If it is you'll just file a new schedule I and a new schedule J with increased expenses so you're payment doesn't increase.

You obviously know that if you change jobs with a change in pay (lower or higher) that you have to notify your attorney. At this point in your plan, do not worry about it as you have to think beyond your plan now and unless this job puts your income at way higher than what it was before, there may or may not be a modification to your plan. You will not need to meet with the Trustee again under these circumstances. Your attorney handles it all.
