That apartment fell through, but maybe that was a blessing. Found another one yesterday.. Two bedroom, two bath 1045 sq ft... $835 a month, all bills paid!! AND it's closer to my job... No more 1.5 hr commute for me!! Anyway I called just before they closed last night and found out it was available, and was at their office before they opened this morning to look and fill out the application. It's move-in ready and VERY cute. We put down the deposit and will hopefully be moving in on Monday... So I might be MIA for a while. Thank you guys for the support, hopefully this all goes through.

That is absolutely the most FABULOUS news. Its and even BETTER deal and closer to work. Win-win all around.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but just briefly: we went and picked up our Anglefood order today. The people are so nice and as we went down the line with our boxes and the people filled our boxes, with so MUCH food--I barely could get outside quick enough before I started crying. WOW. 'Hub and I will post more later in a seperate thread. But THANK YOU so much for sharing the news about Angelfood with the forum!!

That makes me feel so happy and like things are going to be okay. It has been pretty hard to stay positive through all of this and I have had major ups and downs as you all well know, but there is light and God is there watching and making sure that we are all taken care of, just an issue of keeping the faith. I am so glad that y'all are able to utilize that program.

We got our first Angel Food Ministries disbursable today. It is awesome and they has extra Pork Loin Roust that we priced at $12, for $2.00. Two large semi’s and all frozen stuff was fresh, no rejects or out of date. We then took an inventory and priced it at our local store for the equivalent item. Less than 50% savings, and they do take EBT cards. You have to pay up front and no personal checks. For October’s menu the cut off is October 13 and delivery is on a Saturday of I think the 25th. A very worth while thing as well as there is no conditions and you may purchase as much as you wish. I am almost happy enough to play the “Hamster Dance”, but I shall refrain. ‘Hub

I still have reason to hope at this point as they are checking my employment history, and my employment history is awesome, as is that of DF... but for all we have going for us, we have quite a bit working against us as well.

5 minutes ago, DF called me and told me that the apartments finally denied us.. I had a broken lease from a little over a year ago when ex left me that they say is showing up as an eviction and that is JUST not true. I have all 3 of my credit reports and that is no where on there. Well, on TOP of that, because I marked the box next to broken lease, and not next to eviction (which I still feel is TOTALLY wrong) they are keeping our $200 deposit on top of the $80 application fee. There is something wrong with that. Doesn't anything in this country work the way it's supposed to? A broken lease should not cause someone that makes $60,000 a year, get denied for an $835 a month apartment. I am just so frustrated and scared. I'm going to have my current land-lady draft up a letter explaining why we are in this situation and my rental history with her.

So we got the call from an apartment complex in Deer Park (ie - 2.2 miles from DS day care and 8 miles from work). We got it!! It's a 2/1.5 townhouse with W/D connections and so very cute (1100 sq ft). It is $695 a month, we pay electric, but they pay everthing else. I am so happy. We're going in the morning to sign the lease. The only problem is they can't have it move in ready until the 15th so land lady is going to have to hold out a little bit longer, we're trying!
