HOw long is a 13 on credit report?

Is a Ch 13 on your report for 15 yrs? The 5 yrs you are in it and then another 10?

I've always been told that a 13 will remain on your credit report for 7 years, and 7 will remain for 10 years from the dated of filing.

She is right...7 years from date of filing so after 5 years, it'll be there for another 2...not a bad deal. Much better then Chapter 7...

I've wondered about this too. My Transunion report says my CH 13 will fall off in 2014. I filed in 2004. Could Ch 13's be 10 years now too?

After BK all sorts of incorrect information can appear on your credit reports for several years and keeps changing around (we have found that out even two years past discharge). Some creditors get sneaky and try to slip in dates or change dates (we had and still have trouble with some creditors stating we filed a Chapter 7 instead of a Chapter 13 even though they already correctly changed it to Chapter 13 but it is back again to Chapter 7 one year later). When the seven year mark passes as to your filing date, obtain all your reports and dispute those that were discharged in your bankruptcy that are still appearing. Wait a few months after that date to give them time to remove that information. Any remaining just need to be disputed and requested to be removed.

It can be a long, irritating process to keep your CRA's cleaned up after filing any BK.
